24th of 9th mo., 1838

I harnessed up the Bets mare with the Dol colt that is 3 years old for the first time that I had a span of horses in this county or any other. I bought the harness of Sherwood in Pontiac and hired a Buggy of Wm. Power and took in Father & Mother Payne and went to Nathan Stodards.

3rd of 11th mo., 1850

I first got our double buggy and Patience, self & Huldah started to Monthly Meeting. We attended both meetings and made a visit to Rollin. Got home 13th having been gone 10 days.

17th, 11th mo. Patience, self, Franics & Huldah went to our meeting the first time in the New Buggy.

27th of 5th mo. 1852

Harnessed the 5 year old mare that I got of John Petett the 12th mo., last and went to our 5th day meeting.

Raised the schoolhouse on 4th day of this week. I bid of the house to build for $729. I built the old school house in 1835 for $372.50.

31st of 7th mo. Harnessed the 5 year old mair and took to Detroit 51 bushels of wheat. Sold for .77 per bushel to Marshal Mead.

10th of 7th mo., 1854. I raised my horse barn. Ira Toleman & Thadeus Andrews framed it. I gave them $36.

19th of 5th mo., 1856

William Beal, his wife, Otis & Mary made us a visit. They got here in the evening after Patience & I was in bed. They staid 2 days. They brought Father Comstocks large Bible.

17th of 1st mo., 1857. Wm. & Edna Green made us a visit from Rollin. Went to Methodist Quarterly on the 18th. Staid the 19th & left on the morning of the 20th. It was very cold wether.
