completes my 42nd year. I took up 50 apple trees for Ransford A.
Willis in the P.M. choped and let Brother Ira have some potatoes
for turnips.
This year has closed the longest & coldest winter that has
been known in this country. A deep gloom has covered my mind for
more than two months. The suffering of my stock for the want of
feed the latter part of winter and spring has to me been very
trying. The love of life in my feelings has this latter part of my
42nd year much abated to what it ever was before.

embarassments on the account of having endorsed so much for Samuel
& Ebenesar Stuart. I have serious fears resting on my own mind

on the account of my liability. Still I endeavor to trust in the
Lord who has never forsaken me though.

latter part of which has been attended with much anxiety as to my
liabilities with E. Stuart.

of such Artisans as he was.
19th of 4th mo., 1845. Ends my 44 year. I was employed through
the day in fixing the fense round the clover piece east of the old
house. The boys all worked with me. This was a day of some
dispondency
